Being a leader means speaking out for others, setting an example; an example that implies good habits on those around you. Leadership can come a long way with many things, it teaches you how to become stronger mentally because you're expressing your emotions to someone verbally and mentally. Your words can persuade someone to be anything they want to be but your actions stand out most to those who idolize you.
I have two younger brothers, one of them is 9 years old and the other one is 6 years old and these two look up to me because I am their older brother. My job as an older brother is to teach them from right and wrong, teach them how to respect others, teach them to be humble around others. There are a million things that I could teach my brothers to do but the only thing that really matters is they grow to be a better person then they were yesterday.
Dominic is my 9 year old brother and he is the one who really idolizes me the most out of all my brothers. We've had a big connection ever since he was born because we are so much alike. My dad always tells me that "this little kid looks up to you" and it's my job to set a great example for him. I am always helping him with sports, lately it's been basketball. I go to his practices and dribble with him, shoot, run and many other things to get him ready for his game. Before every game, I'll give him some advice and then we do our handshake and I say "Clear Eyes Full Hearts" and he says "Can't Lose." That's what describes our relationship because we both love sports and understand the passion for the game.
I have been setting an example for him ever since he has been born. I go to The Ohio State University, which is an amazing school. My dad always says "You're setting a great example for your little brothers by going to a great school and that he is very proud." All I want for my little brothers to grow up and be successful, be better than their older brother and I just hope I set a great example for them along the way.
That's my leadership experience.
